Hail to the chief

Friday evening, the husband and I attended a dinner honoring past/present military service members here in Military City. This is done in conjunction with the local PGA tournament. We were fortunate enough to hear Bush 43 speak at the dinner, as well as the honor of sitting at the same table with him. 

He had a self-deprecating sense of humor, poking fun at himself and sharing humorous anecdotes about his time in office. We enjoyed getting to hear his recounting of 9/11, how he got into painting thanks to Winston Churchill, and our current rather tempestuous political climate. We weren't allowed to take cell phone pics, so here is our official pic with 43.
