Bavarian Castles, Sept 2016

On our final day in Munich, we toured some of Mad King Ludwig's famous castles, including Neuschwanstein and Linderhof. Since photography wasn't allowed on the inside, all I have are pics from the outside. But they're still really pretty. The weather was just right - light sweater or a windbreaker. And the scenery in the countryside was just lovely, with the greenery, mountains and blue skies.

We also made a brief stop in Oberammergau where the townspeople put on a passion play every ten years and have been doing so for centuries. I enjoyed seeing some lovely painted facades and interesting iron signs on buildings.

An added bonus was the Kathe Wohlfahrt store, mothership for all manner of pretties to make your Christmas season bright and festive.
