Happily Ever After

This past weekend, our grad school daughter flew in from North Carolina to be a bridesmaid in her sorority sister's wedding. Poor thing... the weather was really crummy all day, with bands of thunderstorms moving through the DFW area. Although the outside ceremony had to be moved indoors, it was a really pretty space for both the vows and reception.

Here is my poor quality, fuzzy because it's an action shot of my daughter, another bridesmaid and groomsman walking in for the ceremony.

The event space was a barn, so the theme was country rustic chic.

The barbecue meal was really good. Plus we enjoyed their nacho bar during the cocktail hour. And the cakes... OMG, they were delicious! Dessert hound that I am, that's always the most exciting part of any wedding for me.

I liked how the bride handled the bridesmaids dresses, where the girls had something like 25 dress styles to choose from. The only thing dictated to them was color. Their hair, makeup and accessories were personal choice. Maybe this is something all of the younger millennial are doing these days. Congratulations and best wishes to the newlyweds, Katie and Davis!
